The government plans to host a big event in remembrance of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej next Tuesday and is urging the public to do the same. Government spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd said yesterday that the event intends to show respect and admiration for all Thai kings in the Chakri Dynasty. The event will be followed by the song of Sansoen Phra Barami, or royal anthem, sung by officials taking part in the event. Lt Gen Sansern urged the officials to host events at their office compounds and in the areas where they are living, making it convenient for locals. People can clean up a public place, visit patients in a hospital and read books for the blind, he said.
